Health and Safety Compliance in Tanzania
New publication investigates the role of health and safety actors together with reasons for poor OHS enforcement on construction sites in Tanzania.

This article by Gervas et al. shows that despite the existence of legislation for the enforcement of OHS, there is a demonstrated lack of coordination among actors, insufficient resources and overlapping roles regarding the management of OHS.
The study recommends a need for the promotion of safety leadership and behavioral change together with adequate supply of health and safety resources. All stages of construction projects including planning, tendering, designing and implementation should strive to embrace safety culture.
