Research Project Nordic Network: A care crisis in the women-friendly welfare states?

Project Duration: 12/01/2017 - 02/15/2021
The Nordic Network on Care Crisis (NNCC) supported by the Nordic Council of Ministers through NIKK has run between 2017-2020. The network was an interdisciplinary collaborationwith participation of economists, political scientists, and sociologists. In the context of the network, a series of seminars for a group of experts has been facilitated, also including a PhD workshop.

Care research does not take place in a vacuum, especially in the context of a global pandemic that has magnified the care crisis dynamics discussed in this book. Perhaps the Covid-19 crisis will actually give impetus to more enduring, transformative restructuring of care and justice. And yet there is only limited room to reflect on these developments in the format of academic book chapters written mainly in the pre-coronavirus period. How then can we make sure to position this book in its time, so that you, the reader engaging with our discussions, get a sense of the unsettling, disruptive context in which it has been finalised?

Grant

The project has been awarded a grant of DKK 300,000 from NIKK –  The Nordic Gender Equality Fund 

The Nordic Gender Equality Fund finances collaborations that promote gender equality.

Through the Fund, the Nordic Council of Ministers issues an annual call for proposals for funding projects in which at least three organisations, from at least three Nordic countries, collaborate.

The aims of the projects can be to contribute new knowledge, a sharing of experiences or Nordic networks.
