Podcast on the new Danish laws for 'ghettos'
Denmark is stepping up its migrant ‘integration’ efforts by adopting new hardline legislative measures to regulate low-income, mostly Muslim, ghettos in the country.
One of the laws implies that migrant children, starting at the age of one, must be separated from their families for at least twenty five hours a week for mandatory education in Danish values. Families that don’t comply with the regulations could face welfare payment cuts. Denmark is the only country to formally label certain residential areas as ‘ghettos’.
Radio Sputnik discussed the issue with Michelle Pace, Professor at the Department of Social Sciences and Business, 兴发娱乐官网手机版客户端 University, Denmark.
